The P2 is one of the easiest prebuilt machines I've used. Once taken out of the box, followed the prestart set up instructions, I got it to do some tests without any hassles.
This is my first laser machine, I did look at other brands but they lacked features, and accessories compared to xtool. I've had the P2 unit for a few weeks now, still have a lot to learn, but enjoying the process of it all.
The P2 arrived packaged well. Not a dent or scratch. The setup is straightforward with the provided instructions. The only downside is all the screws that need to be removed to access the laser tube and coolant tank. The laser itself was almost aligned perfectly right out of the box. Easy to adjust, it only took three attempts (because I don't know my right from left). The xTool creative software is great for quick simple projects; really good software for free. The mobile version of XCS is lacking the ability to use the curved processing and conveyor feature. It also takes some time to figure out.
So far I have created projects using slats flat, open plain, and curved processes. I ran into the laser hitting my material on the first run. It would be a good idea to not let the laser operate if the distance measurement identified too thick of material. Another annoyance is when using the open plain setting that if the bottom tray is left in its default position you will receive an error. I had material that was a little too tall for slats flat and if I put the tray in the next position lower the thickness measurement could not determine the thickness because the material was lower than the threshold of 50mm. I got around this by flipping the tray upside down and re-inserting it.
I own other xTool machines and the P2 by far is the easiest to use. Just wish it could cut thin metal and engrave metal.
So far I have created signs for friends, engraved rocks for family, pictures on wood and tile, a plastic cake topper and car parts, and memorial gifts. I am working on designs for the pass-through feature, I am very excited to see what I can create next.
I find myself thinking up new possibilities every day to experiment with on the P2.
So I am new to a laser engraver machine. I did a lot of research and chose the xtoolP2. I bought the bundle and the ordered the riser base. Shipped fairly fast and arrived boxed up safely. They really protect it well. The machine was easy to set up/ bigger than I thought would be and it worked perfectly right out of the box. The xtool P2 is one of the most satisfying purchase ever. The possibilities are limitless. I wake up with new ideas every morning. It is literally life changing. Below is some of the first items I did. Extremely happy!!! It is definitely addictive.
This is my first laser and it's been a blast to use. Both the laser and the xtool creative space have been user friendly and reliable so far. My Xtool materials have also worked well.
