xTool F1 Lite only features a 10W diode laser, while xTool F1 features a dual-laser system, including both a 10W diode laser and a 2W infrared laser. As a result, xTool F1 can additionally engrave plastics and more metals, such as gold, silver, brass, platinum, and more.
In terms of pricing, xTool F1 Lite is priced at ￡739, while xTool F1 is priced at ￡1,149.
The 10W diode laser on xTool F1 Lite and F1 can cut up to 8mm of basswood and 6mm of black acrylic.
You will be able to use the XCS software to choose the diode laser or the infrared laser. Alternatively, you can search for your material in the EasySet™ Library, and we will recommend the most suitable parameters and laser type. Please note that cutting can only be done using the 10W diode laser.

I have had this for about a year now, it has been fun to use and I have learned a lot, it’s been great for making small gifts.
I purchased the F1 as an addition to an already purchased desktop CO2 machine.. and love the speed that I can now complete some of my smaller projects in.. especially my keyrings!
Really happy with my F1 Lite. I was a complete beginner to laser engraving and it was really easy to set up and get going out of the box. I found the software really simple to use and it's really handy having a library of material presets for your power/speed settings. The work area is on the small side, but if you're limited on space like me, or are just doing smaller objects then this is a really quick and easy machine to use.
Loving my xtool f1 so easy to use, nice compact design and added bonus having 2 lasers. I also have the filter system which is a great addition.
I have been interested in owning a laser for such a long time now, and honestly, I was so confused - there is quite a lot of choice out there. After a few months researching, watching videos and joining countless FB groups. I settled on xtool. I liked their user friendly machines - as a newbie some looked too daunting.
Coming from the craft world, I already owned some cutting machines, the Cricut software is quite similar to what xtool use. So I felt I would be able to jump straight in.
Although I knew I might want to work on bigger projects - I felt, for now.. play it safe and keep small. I mainly wanted to offer keyrings and other small trinkets. So the F1 seemed to be the machine for me. If I could have justified the extra cos for the ultra I would have definitely opted for that... but the F1 original, packs a punch.
You can laser so many materials, you can achieve a brilliant deep engrave on wood, and the F1 creates perfectly lasered slate coasters. The F1 original can also mark stainless steel - which I have had good results with.
The F1 is a great little table top laser machine, and really fits well within my craft space. So if you want to dip your toe into the laser world, but have limited space go for it!
Overall I have really enjoyed what I've produced, and anything that didn't work out was user error (remember to invert photos folks!!). I'm excited to keep making...
