I recently purchased a P2. This is my first laser and I was pretty worried it would be complicated and I'd be figuring it out for weeks.
Not so.
It's so unbelievable easy to get going.
Out of the box. Add distilled water and you're away.
I'm so happy with it.
The setup was easy with clear instructions but with some teething trouble. The light path was way ff with no beam showing at all. Adjusting it took two hours due to the first mirror being very awkward to get to the screws. Having got that sorted I'm now beginning to discover the settings required for different thicknesses and types of wood. I will need to o check the beam alignment again as I'm not getting the same depth of cut at the front. I've been using a glowforge for three years and the comparison is as follows. Glowforge too expensive and after getting a 3rd machining three years under guarantee I'm not happy with it's reliability. The tube is failing after only 1 year on this latest one.
Xtool seems superior in many ways. Bigger cutting area, easier to clean, quieter, and crumb tray easier to access for cleaning. Only one issue. The extractor fan doesn't clear all the smoke at the end of a cut. The design software isn't as good as the one I use. I import from my collection of many SVG files and one of them imports at over three times the size which is not usable. A couple of my files won't import at all so I'm hoping I can sort out why. Overall I'm really happy we ith my P2 and hope to resolve the issues. A printed version of a downloaded user manual would be a big advantage. Or is there one already available?

I'm so happy with it.
Although creative, Ive never lasered before and went straight in with a P2. Ive recently been made redundant so thought its now or never to see if i can maybe make a little business out of my designs.
Before it arrived I thought I would be able to unpack it and get it upstairs to my studio on my own. Not a chance. Even hubby and I struggled with the added need to keep it level.
I would say that the set up could be a little easier. There's some written instructions in the box and then links to videos and QR codes and not all cover everything. When I thought I was ready to go I kept getting a warning about the axis and spent ages trying to work out what it could be.
By chance, felt under the gantry and felt some thumbscrews. I unscrewed them (as had been instructed to take out others during the set up) 2 brackets came off which were there I guess for transport purposes. I looked through all the guides etc again but I couldn't find where it told me that this was what I needed to do. Error disappeared and laser ready to go.
Feedback for xTool: Maybe review the set up instructions and make sure they are in full for all media eg: written, video, website.
I am paranoid of burning down the house as ultimately it's a piece of equipment that effectively vaporises material. However, I have the fire safety kit and another CO2 extinguisher nearby for comfort and I NEVER leave it unattended. Even after using I unplug from the mains to be sure.
Whilst the P2 does have extraction, I will be buying an line fan - especially with using acrylic. If the laser stays in the house I might have to invest in the air purifier but currently out of my budget so will see how the inline works.
I ultimately bought this to cut acrylic and paper and still trying to find the sweet spot for paper for no/minimal charring.
My head is fit to burst with ideas so I'm head first in experimental mode trying a myriad of techniques looking for that 'thing' that nobody else has done and this tool is really helping me do that.
This machine has taken my laser cutting and engraving projects to the next level!
As a proud owner of the Xtool M1 (10W) and Xtool D1 pro (20W) I just couldn't resist getting my hands on the Xtool 55W CO2 laser machine.
The cutting speed alone makes this machine worth it as it has halved the time it took me to make the same project with the Xtool M1 (still love that machine by the way!)
This machine gives me more flexibility to use different materials - I have only tried wood, acrylic plastic and rubber so far but will be trying glass tumbler soon with my RA2 Pro!
The only thing that Xtool could do better with is to provide more support for the RA2 Pro. At the moment, I can't find any parameters settings for the RA2 Pro and this machine. If they could do this, then the possibilities are really endless.
I know that if anything ever happens to my machine, I would definitely be buying another Xtool machine - there is just no competition.
